Steam ovens – For the second year in a row, steam ovens have been ranked as the top choice among a new generation of home chefs that emerged during the pandemic. If included in a home’s listing description, this luxury kitchen appliance that uses steam to rapidly cook food can increase the home’s sale price by 3.7% more than anticipated.

Buyers are also willing to shell out extra money for practical kitchen amenities such as new appliances (2.6%) and quartz countertops (2.3%) that expedite the cooking and cleaning processes.

High-speed internet – High-speed internet mentioned in a listing can raise a home’s sale price by 2.5%, while a Zoom room or home office can increase it by 1.6%.

Get-away decor – Buyers across the country are now more inclined to purchase homes that provide a sense of escape, resembling vacation spots, even when they are miles away from the ocean. This has led to a 2.4% increase in the price of homes that feature nautical-style decor.

Outdoor amenities – Amid the pandemic, home buyers still prioritize outdoor space that accommodates lounging, dining, and socializing. When a home features a pizza oven or outdoor kitchen, it can increase its sale price by 2.3% and 2.2%, respectively.

She-sheds – A 2.2% premium can be expected for homes that come with a “she shed,” providing a female counterpart to the male-oriented “man cave,” where women can enjoy some relaxation and leisure.

Pools – Saltwater pools have also become an attractive feature among homebuyers, with studies showing that they can increase a home’s sale price by 2.1% more than anticipated.
