The Power of ‘3’ in Design
Ever wonder why the ‘3’ is a magic number when it comes to design?
The rule of three says that things arranged in odd numbers are more appealing, memorable, and effective than even-numbered groupings. It’s a technique that top interior designers employ frequently to make the items they put together more striking and eye-catching.
You can use the power of three in almost anything: Three piled-up cushions on the sofa, three sets of wall art hung beside each other, three vases on the center of a table, a row of three pendant lights hanging above the dining table, and so much more.
Don’t be afraid to be creative with the use of the power of three. Use the power of three on a smaller scale on walls shelves or in cubbies. And then add objects of three on a larger scale to bring more depth and dynamism to the display.
