Moving Day Hacks

Do these if you want to master the University move!

Moving away to university can be exciting, but it can also be stressful. Whether you’re a freshman or a transfer student, it’s important to be prepared for the big move. Here are some hacks to help make your university move a success:

1. Start early: Don’t wait until the last minute. Packing ahead of time will save time and stress, rather than scrambling at the last minute to get ready. Make lists of what you need to pack and what your deadlines are.

2. Pack smart: Use clear plastic bins to easily identify and quickly access items. Label them clearly and take special care with fragile items. Make sure to bring your essential items and to only bring items that you know you’ll need.

3. Keep a box of essentials handy: Have a “must-have” box with all of your essential items that you might need immediately upon arrival. This can include things like toiletries, bedding, a laptop, chargers, and snacks. This way, you can settle in comfortably right away.

4. Organize your space right away: Before you even unpack, take a few minutes to label where everything goes. That way when you’re looking for an item, you’ll know where to find it. Designate specific areas of your room for studying and storing clothes, books, and supplies.

5. Check campus services: Familiarize yourself with services available at your college. It can be useful to know the location of the on-campus medical clinic, laundry rooms, and transportation services. You may also be able to find out what your dorm room is equipped with, so you don’t need to bring everything from home.

These tips will help you master a move to university and make your experience much smoother.
