???? Change your locks. You don’t know how many people may still have keys to your home. Ensure security by changing the locks as soon as you move in.

???? Set up your utilities. If you haven’t done it yet, make sure to get your electricity, water, gas, cable, and internet set up in your new home. Avoid surprising yourself that there’s no electricity and hot shower after a long day of moving and unpacking.

???? Make sure all the appliances are plugged in and working. Most homeowners unplug their appliances after leaving their home. Plug in and set up your appliances to ensure that they are working.

???? Update your mailing address. You probably already updated your mailing address online, but sometimes, it can get mixed up for a while and not all mail gets forwarded. To ensure that your contacts have the right address, take the extra effort to directly change your mailing address with them.
